The horror genre is perfect for the location as I live in the countryside and the wooded background would be ideal for a horror movie as it creates an atmosphere of fear and the idea of being isolated is the perfect setting for a horror movie as it makes the audience know the Protagonist isn't safe. The diegetic sounds will be affected too with the sound of the leaves and sticks as the character steps on them. This creates tension and makes the film more realist. I have the benefit of having a older brother who is experienced in the media industry therefore I can ask him for advice and feedback to improve my film to the highest quality. I'm also considering using his high tech equipment such as tripod and mic to get some stable and clear shots and good quality sound which would be hard to gain using basic equipment when filming in the countryside as the wind might block out the sound and the camera wouldn't be as stable perhaps panning along ruth and uneven grounds. I have considered the props when using this type of genre in order to make the film convincing, such as my dog to create a realist feel and casual everyday clothes to create a realist film and to create affect towards the audience, trying to make them believe the characters will be average people such as themselves which makes them even more scared.
As I'm a twin I'm considering using the idea of the psychological side of the horror genre as an advantage as I can create a narrative with my twin sister to make the film more realist and create tension and interested to the audience making it look believable. This connects with the genre of supernatural horror because I can incorporate the idea in a dark and creepy location and a twisted scary way to make it a worth while movie to watch and for the audience to be highly entertained by my opening.
