Planning: Location

We decided to scout out certain locations to see what location will match the genre and right shots for our opening. The location pictures helped us to find what location is more suitable for our opening. Taking these certain pictures of different locations helped us to look at the shot at a camera's perspective and to clearly see how it may link to our genre. This planning also helped us to figure out where the certain characters can be positioned to how it looks through the camera so we can rearrange the way the cast comes in the shot or where they are stood in the shots to make it more realistic and interesting to the audience. Making it a more successful film and linking to the genre of Horror. Here are some shot taken in Moreton Pinkney:

From theses picture we want the audience to see the location gains a sense of abandoness which is a stereotypical trait in the genre Horror as there is a sense of danger and fear because no body is around. The sticks and brunches in the pictures link to the genre of horror with the tension building diegetic sounds they will create an atmosphere of fear as the audience doesn't know where to look as the Antagonist could be hiding behind the trees etc, putting them more on edge. We thought the different locations matched our genre and was effective as it matches openings such as 'The Shining' and 'The Blair Witch Project' this tell us its a reliable location which other horror films have used so we feel its a good location which will link to our genre and make the film more realistic to the audience.
